12/7/2023 0 Comments Aos undying legion![]() If your opponent kills the entire unit, character and all, you can't use undying legions. You now have a character + some bodyguards. The cryptothralls attack and then are removed (and can be reanimated if you so choose, since they're technically already destroyed models).Reanimation activates, potentially returning models (assuming the character doesn't eat all the reanimation up as you have to heal them first) Once the attacks are over you use Undying legions.During this process, when they're destroyed, you roll for systematic vigor on the cryptothralls Enemy unit attacks, almost killing the unit.Homebrew stuff can be overpowered, hard to balance, takes a long time to make, etc. Then that got me thinking further on what the general stance of the community is on homebrew stuff like this is. It wouldn't be the same like LoA, it'd be more customized to how I would want them to be and have different units since I've been finding ideas from 3d printable files. ![]() Hence why I soon found out the Amazons had access to items that were essentially power weapons and bolters.Īnyways, he's been putting together a small homebrew battletome for them to bring into AoS and that got me thinking about making other rules for a custom Chaos Dwarf army. One of his finds was the Amazon faction around 1e, which (FUN FACT) was when GW had the idea of having both Fantasy and 40k (I believe was still referred to as Rogue Trader att) in the same universe. ![]() Now, the second question I wanted to ask was if GW wasn't going to bring them back, then what about homebrew rules for them, or really any army? I ask this since one of my friends has been getting into really old lore (like VERY early editions) of Warhammer. With that in mind, is it possible for GW to ever return to Chaos Dwarfs as a new faction in AoS, officially published by them? I know it sounds weird and unlikely but if GW can say "let's make a faction out of one cool theme from a unit in dwarfs in AoS" then surely they could make Chaos Dwarfs relevant again in AoS (that's also not to mention the dwarf-like figures in the Iron Golems' and Spire Tyrants' warbands) but we've also gotten factions that add a nice twist or theme to factions that are similar but work for AoS's setting, like Fyreslayers, Lumineth, Sons of Behemat, and (presumably) the upcoming Soulblight vampire faction. We've gotten classic factions similar to the old world, like Seraphon, Skaven, StD, etc. We've gotten new rules, models and, more importantly, factions. AoS right now has been getting bigger and better over time. However, this does makes me want to ask something for a discussion. It is a shame that another series of Forgeworld models have been discontinued (RIP Tamurkhan), but I can't really feel too bad about it since I wasn't a player of the faction, hell I was only getting into their old lore more recently, and let's be honest: were there really a lot of players for this faction at all? I don't want to sound harsh but the fact that the entire army was Forgeworld and didn't really have the best support in AoS kind of shows this was going to happen eventually. To catch people up on what's happened, Forgeworld is now sold out on the Legion of Azgorh (basically Chaos Dwarfs) and will no longer be producing them. r/Warhammer Competitive for discussion of tournament/competition lists r/warhammer for more discussion of GW games Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions TCG Subreddit Warhammer Underworlds: Shadespire, Nightvault, and Beastgrave Subreddit DiscordĪllied Discord Server with /r/Warhammer Links Posts & comments can and will be removed at the moderators discretion, no arguments will be entered into.
